Stayin' Alive

Pandemics in the Past and Today

The exhibition "STAYIN' ALIVE - Living with Epidemics" opened on July 30, 2021, at the Turm zur Katz in Konstanz. It was a collaborative project organized by students from various departments and the Cultural Office of Konstanz. The exhibition focused on the theme of "Pandemics and Epidemics in Human History - From Antiquity to the Present." It aimed to provide visitors with insights into the handling of pandemics through medical, political, and societal perspectives. The exhibition space spanned four floors, divided into core themes such as Data Collection, Science, Politics, and Society. Visitors explored the history of pandemics using a combination of digital and analog media, clear design, and sound experiences. The exhibition incorporated a narrative that spanned centuries, engaging visitors in a fictitious research institute called IMPF. Different floors explored topics such as data collection, science and research, political decision-making, societal emotions, and possible solutions.
