House of 1000 Stories

Pilot Project: Re-Use

The "House of 1000 Stories" was a pilot project at HTWG campus in Konstanz, constructing a public exhibition building from recycled demolition components. It promoted a circular economy and sustainable design. The design featured a double-walled niche structure, showcasing components and serving multiple functions. Wood and modular components were chosen. The building utilized point foundations, elevated terrace/ramp with vegetable crates, and recycled textiles for insulation. A component catalogue and QR codes tracked material origins. For details, visit www.re-use-building.de.
